We offer equine-assisted learning both one-on-one and in small groups.

At this time we do not have scheduled groups, but we are able to offer this service to groups of 4-6 children/youth organized by parents.

In partnership with Stillwater Stables.

Our equine-assisted learning classes provide participants with opportunities to explore themselves and learn pro-social skills through their interactions with horses and other animals.

These classes will focus on participants exploring their own thoughts, feelings and habits; as well as building and growing communication and relationship skills (including assertiveness, patience, non-violent communication, etc.)

Equine and Nature Assisted Learning

One-on-one

Our one-on-one equine and nature programming sessions can be totally unstructured, or may have specific long or short term goals.

Some young people may benefit simply from being in nature or being around animals, while others may want to work toward more specific goals.

These services are open to all children and youth, and are particularly helpful for those who:

  • experience anxiety

  • need more time outdoors or with animals

  • want to develop social, emotional and communication skills

Equine-Assisted Learning

Nature Experiences

We offer nature experiences for children and youth ages 4-18. These experiences are not wilderness or naturalist education programs, but rather an opportunity to spend time outside in nature with a trusted adult playing and doing activities that they love.

Kids and teens alike could benefit greatly from having the opportunity to play freely in an outdoor environment with minimal adult intervention, yet with always available adult support.

Being out in nature and having free play time gives children and teens opportunities to talk about tough issues with a trusted adult in a safe, non-threatening and no-pressure situation.

We offer nature experiences both one-on-one and in small groups.

At this time we do not have scheduled groups, but we are able to offer this service to groups of 4-6 children/youth organized by parents.

Please note that these are play-based nature-experiences, and are not intended to teach wilderness, naturalist or outdoor skills. For those skills, we recommend the wonderful Nature Connections program.
